Michael Ryan Gottfredson (born January 16, 1951) is the former President of the University of Oregon, serving from August 1, 2012 to August 6, 2014. ==Biography== He previously served as provost and executive vice-chancellor of University of California, Irvine. On June 11, 2012, it was announced that he was the sole finalist for the position of president at the University of Oregon. He was confirmed by the Oregon State Board of Higher Education on June 15, 2012, with the decision to take effect on August 1, 2012.
